Frequently asked questions:
How many employers will be participating?
We plan on having 50 employer slots available (with a maximum of 10 spaces allocated specifically for small businesses.)
How many students will be coming?
With 12 high schools across the region scheduled to attend, we are planning on having 250 high school seniors who will be graduating in May/June 2024.
How much does it cost?
The participation fee for employers is $150. Small businesses with 10 employees or less are eligible for a discounted rate (limited availability, awarded based on the date of employer application.)
How many people should I bring?
We recommend THREE people to represent your company, alternating between your booth space and the job interview room.
Why is there a fee?
The employer cost covers marketing the event, facility fees, event supplies, and providing three (3) lunches for each employer.
How is this different from other job fairs?
This is a HIRING event. Student attendance will be limited to those who will be actively looking for jobs immediately after graduation. You will be given space to interview students AT the event and be able to preview students' profiles beforehand to determine the candidates most likely to match with your employment needs. In addition, later that afternoon, we will open up the event to other (non high-school) active job seekers.
What's a "Student Employment Profile"?
Think of the Student Employment Profile as an overview, detailing each student's career preferences, schedule availability, competencies, and past experiences. Prior to applying, ALL students are required to complete this profile, serving as a preliminary application for employment.
Reviewing a student's profile allows you to quickly ascertain if they align with your requirements. By doing so, you can save both the students and yourself valuable time by only inviting potential matches to submit a formal application for your company.
How will interviews work?
Interview spaces will be provided for companies to conduct brief initial interviews lasting 10-15 minutes with candidates. Our goal is to arrange scheduled interviews for students with a minimum of two companies (their best matches) during their visit. Additionally, companies can utilize their interview space to engage with non-high school candidates later in the afternoon. Employers are encouraged to prepare to bring a team of at least three members to manage their booth space and interview area effectively.
What's an "Employer Profile"?
Just as students have individual profiles, employers will as well. Upon submitting your Employer Application for "Ready. Set. Hire.," we extract pertinent details to generate your Employer Profile. This profile will showcase your basic company information, logo, locations, career fields, shift availability, as well as compelling reasons why graduating seniors should consider working for your organization.
Just as employers can preview students' profiles, students can preview employers' profiles as well. Take your time when filling out the application so that your Employer Profile will generate interest from job seekers from the start!
